The Opportunity


The Corporate Services IT department is responsible for providing and supporting the information technology solutions across the Wolf Midstream businesses. This is delivered through a combination of outsourced infrastructure vendors and internal specialists.

Under the direction of the IT Manager – Maintenance & Security, this contract position will collaborate with our network support vendor and OT groups to design, implement, test, and roll-out network, infrastructure, and security changes. This position offers the opportunity to work across a variety of technical and interpersonal roles, making it ideal for a professional with strong generalist IT skills and a specific interest or experience in networking. This role will begin as a 6-month term position.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform physical installation of corporate network gear, including switches and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with our network vendor on the implementation and testing of a new VPN, manage the migration of users to the new solution, and decommission the old solution.
  • Work with our network vendor to implement and test Network Access Control (NAC) across the corporate network (including wireless), manage the migration of users and devices, and identify and remediate unauthorized devices as needed.
  • Manage the network asset inventory to ensure effective tracking of support and warranty dates, security monitoring, vulnerability management and patching, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between network, telecom, and infrastructure vendors, IT, and Operational Technology (OT) groups to support other project and operational activities spanning IT and OT (WAN links, control room phone solutions, corporate access to SCADA Historian apps, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned, including cross-coverage with other security operations, projects, and general support.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong generalist IT skillsets with the ability to work across a variety of technical and interpersonal roles.
  • Specific networking experience, training, or interest is an asset.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification is an asset.
  • Wolf Midstream has offices and operating sites in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Sturgeon, Conklin, and Mariana Lake. Travel is minimal but the ability to travel to these locations as required is a must (typically once every 2-3 months).
