The Opportunity

Wolf is looking for a Project Controls Analyst. This is a contract position for a 12-month term with the potential for extension. Reporting through the NGL Accounting team, this contract position is responsible for supporting the Project Managers in the execution of the cost controls function for capital projects as assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure appropriate cost tracking and reporting against budget
  • Have a key understanding of budget and work breakdown structure (WBS) to ensure costs are recorded and reported appropriately
  • Understand reporting requirements and capital policies as they relate to each individual project
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of project reports and coordinate progress tracking, cost reports, field tickets, procurement, and invoicing
  • Prepare and issue cost reporting to accurately track budget, actuals, accruals, trends, forecasts, progress, and variances
  • Coordinate approval of field costs with Construction Management Team to ensure a three-way match is completed for invoice approvals
  • Plan and coordinate project change and contingency management with the Project Manager
  • Assist with emissions reporting and tracking for GHG reporting
  • Support Project Managers and Accounting for month-end project reporting for Stakeholders
  • Support the development and maintenance of project controls (cost, schedule, and scope management)
  • Liaise with third party vendors who provide financial reports on the status of a project; review of such reports ensuring accuracy 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with project controls
  • Post-secondary education required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and accounting database software
  • Self-starter able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Good analytical abilities with a working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, variance analysis
  • Technical knowledge of capital project development and execution an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Capable of handling highly sensitive & confidential information and issues in an appropriate and professional manner
