Fleet Maintenance - Mechanic (Trailers)

What we are looking for:
We are seeking a full-time 310J Trailer Mechanic. You would be an integral member of our Fleet Maintenance group who handle our repairs as a dynamic group to provide efficient & reliable service to our driving fleet. As a 310J Trailer Mechanic you are the key communicators with our drivers and counted on to treat everyone with respect.

• What your day would look like:

Perform scheduled maintenance service to ensure safe operation of trailers

• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation, through written work orders
• Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing: electrical systems; landing gear assemblies and trailer frames; hitching/coupling systems; trailer bodies; suspensions systems; tires, wheels, hubs and axles; air and auxiliary systems; braking systems; heating and refrigeration systems as well as ventilation devices and hydraulic systems
• Using hand tools and various specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose, isolate and repair faults
• Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
• Carries out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training
• Complete and attend in calls and on the job training to achieve trade certification (301J)
• Participate in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety)
• Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
• Ensure all shop tools are used and stored properly
• Record parts and equipment utilized on the repair order
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other mechanical repair work as required

Who you are:
Valid Mechanics license 310J or Apprentices (will consider candidates with mechanical experience, interested in Apprenticeship opportunities)
Minimum one year’s experience as a Trailer Mechanic in the transportation industry
Possess valid G driver's license (A or D will be considered an asset)
Proven mechanical abilities

Education:
