Fire Extinguisher Technician (Fly in, Fly out Fort McMurray)

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to join our team as a Fire Extinguisher Technician in Fort McMurray.

 

This role offers a higher desirable compressed work schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hour shifts with company-paid housing for fly-in/fly-out employees OR a monthly housing allowance for local employees.

 

 

About the Role

  • Inspect, service and install fire extinguishers and facilities safety equipment (first aid, eyewash, emergency lighting etc.)
  • Low-pressure hydro testing.
  • General shop duties such as filling of Nitrogen cartridges, Dry Chemical cylinders and extinguishers and SCBAs.
  • Other duties as assigned as well as cross training including fall harness inspection.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and be the face of Levitt-Safety for our customers and their onsite safety needs.

Physical Safety Requirements

This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments. As such the following are core requirements for this role:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Physically able to work in restricted or confined workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
