The Role

 

As a Surveyor, you play a pivotal role in managing and conducting field survey work, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis to support various engineering and construction projects. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, utilize advanced surveying equipment and software, and adhere to safety protocols to deliver high-quality surveying services. Your expertise in surveying techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis will contribute to the successful completion of projects while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements.

 

We have immediate opportunities for experienced candidates. We are also looking to build a strong roster of candidates we can call upon to support our Clients throughout Alberta with engineering and construction, at all experience levels, during the 2024 construction season. 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:

 

  • A graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of field experience would be considered an asset.
  • Mentor and Leadership skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of surveying equipment including GPS, Total Stations.
  • Knowledge and experience of Trimble equipment and software.
  • Advanced License for Drone flights would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D would be considered an asset.
  • Strong problem solving skills.   
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn.
  • Enjoys working outdoors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods of time on projects throughout Alberta.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and able to provide own transportation as needed. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

As a member of our Surveying team, you will be responsible for assisting our Managers and Project Managers in providing construction layout, data collection, and quantity tracking.

 

  • Manage, schedule and perform field survey work.
  • Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work. 
  • Design Layout and Verification.
  • Field Design & Calculations.
  • Survey Control Establishment.
  • Data Collection:
    • GPS Surveys
    • Drone Surveys
    • Total Station Surveys
  • Data Processing, Modeling and Analysis.
  • Information tracking and inventories.
  • Data Management.
  • Ensure all requirements under Egis’ Safety Program are followed.  
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  
  • Equipment maintenance and care.
  • Record accurate and legible field notes.
  • Support project team with various roles as needed.
