Mechanical - Technologist

We are seeking a Technologist for our Mechanical Engineering department. This position can be based out of either our Barrie or Orillia office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing mechanical engineering designs and projects serving a range of sectors including but not limited to Buildings, Industrial, and Municipal. These projects involve several applications including HVAC, domestic water, sanitary drainage, building automation, industrial ventilation, process piping and pumping. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations are required to complete these projects. Work assignments will include designing HVAC, domestic water and sanitary drainage systems for buildings, performing construction reviews and providing direction to contractors.
The successful candidate will focus on the development of the mechanical REVIT library and support project work.
Key Position Requirements:
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related discipline
- Minimum of 2-5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the consulting industry
- C.E.T. designation would be an asset
- Proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD is required
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, and associated standards including ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA
- Detailed engineering experience with mechanical systems including air handling, hydronic, domestic water and sanitary drainage systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision
