Mechanical - Engineer

We are seeking an Engineer for our Mechanical Engineering department. This position can be based out of our Collingwood office or Guelph area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing mechanical engineering designs and projects serving a range of sectors including but not limited to Buildings, Industrial, and Municipal. These projects involve several applications including HVAC, domestic water, sanitary drainage, building automation, industrial ventilation and pumping systems. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations are required to complete these projects. Work assignments may include performing HVAC load calculations, designing domestic water and sanitary drainage systems for buildings, performing site inspections, and providing direction to contractors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering design work and providing technical direction to assist senior engineers and the group leader.
Key Position Requirements:
- P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the consulting industry
- Seal and stamp engineering deliverables
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, and associated standards including ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA.
- Detailed engineering experience with mechanical systems including preparation of calculations, equipment selection, air handling, hydronic, domestic water and sanitary drainage systems.
- Experience preparing specifications for equipment and associated systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Experience with REVIT would be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and lead in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision
