Air & Noise - Engineering Intern

Our Air & Noise Engineering department is looking for an engineering intern to work out of our Barrie office location. This is a full time, permanent position. Typical projects include noise studies for land development projects, air and noise studies for land use compatibility, ECAs and EAs as well as climate change and net-zero studies. Experience with noise reduction measures would be beneficial. More specifically, the successful candidate will:
- Design/draft using appropriate software;
- Prepare air and noise calculations, report writing, project coordination and management;
- Conduct site/field visits to review and confirm existing conditions and perform field measurements;
- Compile and analyze data;
- Conduct noise modeling for road noise and stationary noise;
- Conduct air dispersion modeling;
- Confirm regulatory requirements for the project location;
- Prepare submissions and applications for required approvals;
Key Position Requirements:
- A degree in a related engineering discipline;
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience;
- Working towards Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation;
- Experience with CadnaA, and STAMSON;
- Experience with AERMOD is considered an asset;
- Experience with GHG quantification and net-zero pathway studies is considered an asset;
- Experience with energy modeling is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision; and
- The desire to succeed and strive to achieve.
