We are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in SudburyUnder the leadership of the Finance Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Controller and Finance Manager with preparing journal entries, accounts payables, account receivables, supporting the monthly closure and participating in the data entry process.


 


START DATE: As soon as possible


LOCATION: Sudbury, ON


RATE OF PAY: $44,252 per year


HOURS: 40 per week


 


Major Responsibilities



  • Oversee accounts payable. accounts receivable

  • Assist with financial audits

  • Participate in required meetings and provide input

  • Oversee accurate bank reconciliations

  • Ensure all administration filing systems are maintained

  • Data Entry 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Association 


Qualifications



  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting or related field *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in marketing & communications or related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong understanding of computerized accounting, registration and billings adminstration

  • Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
