We are currently looking for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time 6-month contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury. Under the leadership of the Manager of Brand and Communications, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating the marketing and communication of the programs and services offered by the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario in accordance with the YMCA policies, procedures, and standards.


 


START DATE: As soon as possible


LOCATION: Sudbury, ON


RATE OF PAY: $40,000 per year


HOURS: 40 per week


 


Major Responsibilities



  • Promote branding initiatives consistent with the goals and objectives of the YMCA

  • Assist in the implementation of the Association marketing and promotion plan, including event support

  • Ensure all products/services conform to the YMCA brand identity

  • Order all collateral, swag and brand signage for Association promotions as required

  • Facilitate social media posts and communications

  • Assist with newsletters, e-blasts, website updates and storytelling content creation and roll out

  • Draft press releases for Association events and vet through Manager of Brand and Communications for approval

  • Support philanthropy in a leadership capacity through committee and attending of events

  • Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization


Qualifications



  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Marketing & Communications, Public Relations, or related field *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in marketing & communications or related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Strong presentation/facilitation skills

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Solid knowledge of legislation that impacts communication and promotional materials such as AODA

  • Solid knowledge of graphic design and design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset

  • Valid G Drivers’ License with access to reliable vehicle considered an asset

  • Bilingualism in both official languages an asset

  • Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
