VOLUNTEER Opportunity:


Are you passionate about fitness and helping others? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity? We want to hear from you!


As a Volunteer YThrive Coach, you will be on our fitness conditioning floor inspiring and helping YMCA members achieve their health and wellness goals. You will get to create an engaging and fun environment for people to enjoy their workout experience. Your role will be to share your passion for fitness with them through providing tips, advice and teaching new workouts. We want coaches who are outgoing and ready to inspire our members to new levels of success.

This is a volunteer unpaid position.

 

Duties

  • Provide high quality customer service to participants
  • Provide coaching appointments to members
  • Actively book people into YThrive Appointments and recommend YMCA programs to suit customer goals and needs.
  • Assist with cleaning duties of the Wellness Floor
  • Ensure Wellness Floor rules are being followed
  • Assist instructors with class transitions and set up
  • Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, volunteers, and members
  • Maintain excellent communication with Health and Wellness Staff and department manager
  • Complete all online trainings as assigned.
  • Be an Ambassador for the YMCA.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 14.
  • Understanding of physical fitness principals.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C preferred.
  • Experience working or volunteering in physical fitness preferred.
  • Original Criminal Reference Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening less than 6 months old.
  • Fun, friendly and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Hardworking, dependable and a team player.
  • Genuinely interested in being a part of the YMCA.
