Our Procurement team has an opening for a Senior Manager Supply Chain in Kitchener!

 


 

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager Supply Chain actively leads and is accountable for all aspects of the company’s procurement and inventory management activities across the Flanagan network.  In addition, this role is responsible to provide direction, coaching and oversight to the Supply Chain team of 13, driving optimal performance as they forecast demand and coordinate the sourcing and movement of supply.  Their primary responsibility is to fulfill customer’s product needs by procuring the required products and carefully managing the flow of inventory in the most efficient way possible.  This critical leadership role requires a strong leader who can build a winning team by attracting & developing talent.  Key competencies required to be successful in this role include;  exceptional business acumen, strong analytic and technical skills, collaborative problem solver and team player, dedicated to meeting customer expectations, effective communicator with strong command skills, resilience, creativity, ambition and perseverance to overcome all challenges and successfully deliver results.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Accountable for all aspects of the company’s procurement and inventory management activities across the Flanagan network
  • Leads the development of our supply chain strategy and continuous improvement projects and work with other cross-functional leaders and Senior Leadership Team on process optimization initiatives
  • Manage the Supply Chain team of 13, and provide effective coaching and development opportunities
  • Drives operational excellences within the supply chain function and across various interdependent operational divisions
  • Fosters strong collaboration externally with key customers and vendors, and internally with Category Management, Operations, Sales and Customer Relations to ensure we consistently meet the customers’ needs for; the right product, in the right quantity and quality, at the right time and price
  • Establishes and implements strategies to achieve industry leading fill rate while minimizing inventory levels and spoilage balancing the need to support other corporate business objectives
  • Develops and maintains relationships with both customers and vendors with an eye to constantly improving efficiency and performance of the entire supply chain network

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain management roles of progressive responsibility required
  • Varied background in food distribution with significant FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) experience at a management level required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Distribution preferred
  • Strong understanding of forecasting techniques, driven by input from various cross-functional areas, such as customer planning, consumer insights and marketing
  • Strong analytic skills, with an understanding of statistical modeling and other mathematical concepts to draw insights form complex data
  • Demonstrated business acumen required
  • Effective problem solver with the ability manage process efficiently
  • Strong decision-making skills, and the ability to drive change utilizing both technical skills and leadership abilities to influence and motivate change and meet business needs
  • Functional skills and experience in procurement and inventory management (APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred)
  • Strong technical skills and experience using leading ERP systems required
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Access, and PowerBi required
